Superintendent's Student Advisory Board (SSAB)
The purpose of this student advisory board is to bridge the gap between their peers and faculty, staff, and administration by elevating student voices directly to the Superintendent and educating their peers about the workings of the district.
The SSAB will provide a platform for students to share their thoughts and exchange ideas that can assist school and district leaders to improve their overall school experience. Members will serve as a voice for all TSD students, providing valuable insight that can reshape our work as we progress toward our world class vision that each student be equipped for a world of possibilities. They will have the opportunity to work alongside the Superintendent, Dr. Machesky, and other district leaders while developing their leadership, advocacy, and collaboration skills alongside a diverse community of peers.
If I cannot do GREAT things, I can do small things in a GREAT way.
JOIN SSAB - APPLY HERE
Dr. Machesky is looking for motivated rising 9th and 10th-grade students to join our Superintendent Student Advisory Board (SSAB) next year. SSAB students serve as a sounding board for Dr. Machesky on various issues to help better understand student perspectives on important topics facing our students. It's a great opportunity for students to build leadership skills, meet students from all four high schools, and have the chance to have their voices heard at the district level. This is a very hands-on group where attendance and active participation are expected. SSAB students meet monthly, and they are involved in planning the Citywide MLK Jr. Event and Leadership Conference for 8th graders.
