Superintendent's Student Advisory Board (SSAB)

The purpose of this student advisory board is to bridge the gap between their peers and faculty, staff, and administration by elevating student voices directly to the Superintendent and educating their peers about the workings of the district.

The SSAB will provide a platform for students to share their thoughts and exchange ideas that can assist school and district leaders to improve their overall school experience. Members will serve as a voice for all TSD students, providing valuable insight that can reshape our work as we progress toward our world class vision that each student be equipped for a world of possibilities. They will have the opportunity to work alongside the Superintendent, Dr. Machesky, and other district leaders while developing their leadership, advocacy, and collaboration skills alongside a diverse community of peers.

SSAB Upcoming Events

The annual, city-wide Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service will take place on January 20 at Athens High School to honor Dr. King's legacy. This event invites volunteers of all ages to give back to the community and celebrate the spirit of service. In addition to talks by statewide leaders and a student contest reflecting on Dr. King’s quotes, the event will feature a variety of service projects. Attendees can help create activity packets for children at the Children’s Hospital and make fleece blankets for Grace Centers of Hope. We hope to see a record number of participants join us in amplifying our impact at this year’s event!
