PreK & Kindergarten Enrollment

2026-2027 Enrollment

Enrollment for 2026-2027 Pre-K/Kindergarten is approaching soon!

In addition to our traditional kindergarten program, the Troy School District is pleased to offer a Pre-Kindergarten option that serves as the first year of a two-year transitional kindergarten pathway. This program provides a developmentally appropriate Pre-K curriculum designed for students who may benefit from an additional year of learning before entering traditional kindergarten in the second year.

The program is available to all age-eligible kindergarten students. Please refer below to determine enrollment eligibility based on your child’s date of birth. Note that this program is available exclusively to residents of the Troy School District, and district transportation is not provided.

Pre-K/Kindergarten

Children who will be 5 (five) by September 1, 2026 are eligible to enroll. Children who turn 5 (five) between September 2 and on or before December 1, 2026 are eligible for early entry into Pre-K/Kindergarten with a waiver. During the enrollment process, the administration will meet with the parent/legal guardian to discuss the student’s readiness and provide the options for enrollment.

For those students that are not eligible for Pre-K/Kindergarten enrollment for the 26-27 school year, visit our Troy Preschool website to check out our early education programs, e.g. Great Start Readiness (G.S.R.P.), Strong Beginnings, and Tuition Preschool.

Are Your Eligible to Enroll?  Check the District Maps

If you have an eligible student, contact the elementary building that is in the attendance area of the parent/legal guardian’s principal residence and add your student to the prospective Pre-K/Kindergarten list. Use this link to district maps if you do not know your home elementary building, TSD Maps.

Reminder: You and your child(ren) MUST currently, physically and legally reside in within the Troy School District boundaries to complete the Pre-Registration Form.

Families that reside in two of Troy’s largest apartment complexes are assigned to multiple buildings. Somerset Apartment residents are assigned to Bemis, Leonard, Martell, Morse, Schroeder and Wattles Elementary. Charter Square Apartment residents are assigned to Morse and Wattles Elementary. Building placement is completed later in the enrollment process and is determined by the district. We are unable to process parent requests for specific buildings. If a sibling is currently attending a building in kindergarten through 4th grade, please contact that building. If there are no current siblings attending an elementary building, contact the following building to have your student’s name added to the prospective list.

  • Somerset Residents: 248-823-3300
  • Charter Square Residents: 248-823-3400
