Current 2025-2026 Enrollment for PreK-Grade 12: Pre-Registration
PRIOR TO ENROLLMENT: CHECK YOUR ADDRESS FOR RESIDENCY
Parent or legal guardian and the student MUST be physically/legally residing in the Troy School District attendance area in order to start the enrollment process. Maps are available on this page or at Troy City Parcel Search. Once residency has been verified, follow the steps below to start the registration and enrollment process.
2026-2027 Enrollment PreK - Grade 12
Enrollment is a 2-Step process that is completed online.
The first step is Pre-Registration. Once pre-registration is completed and you are given approval to move forward, you will receive directions to set up your PowerSchool Parent Portal Account where you will complete the second step, Enrollment Forms and Supporting Documentation.
2026-2027 Pre-Registration: STEP 1
Please complete each form in its entirety and upload required supporting documentation. When documentation is required it will be noted at the bottom of the form you are completing. We understand that you may not have access to a scanner, your cell phone or tablet can be used to scan your documents. Click HERE for instructions for how to use your mobile device as a scanner. You may also consider taking a picture on your cell phone and upload that picture as your documentation if needed.
Please remain patient while we work through the finalization of your student's enrollment. There may be requests throughout the process to provide additional information when appropriate prior to final approval. You can check and review the status of your enrollment by logging into your PowerSchool Parent Portal account, select "Enrollment Forms" from the side menu, then select "Enrollment Status". Pre-Registration Instructions: Step 1
STEP 1
Pre-Registration (REQUIRED)
You and your child(ren) MUST currently, physically and legally reside in within the Troy School District boundaries to complete the Pre-Registration Form. Please check the Troy School District Boundary & Attendance Map. To begin the enrollment process, read through all of the Enrollment Requirements & Information, then complete the pre-registration form.

If you already have a student enrolled in the Troy School District DO NOT create a new Parent Account - Move to Step 2B.
STEP 2A
Creating your PowerSchool Parent Portal Parent Account
- Go to PowerSchool: https://ps.troy.k12.mi.us
- Select Create Account. On the next page click Create Account. (reference example image).
- On the Create Parent Account screen, in the Parent Account Details portion: (reference example image).
- Fill out YOUR first and last name. NOTE: please DO NOT enter your student’s name in these fields. This is a Parent Account. Students will get their own Student Account once registered.
- Make sure your Desired Username is at least 4 characters
- Follow the directions on the page for a password.

- In the Link Students to Account portion:
- Enter your Students First and Last name, then enter the Access ID and Access Password listed in your Enrollment Step 2 email.
- Click Submit
- Proceed to Step 2B.

STEP 2B
Adding your student to your existing Parent Account

Login to your existing PowerSchool Parent Portal Account at https://ps.troy.k12.mi.us

Select Account Preferences from the left menu. (reference example image).

Select the Students tab. (reference example image).

Select the ADD button on the right side of the screen.

Enter your Students First and Last Name, then enter the Access ID and Access Password listed in your Enrollment Step 2 email. (reference example image).

Click OK and proceed to STEP 3.

STEP 3
Completing the enrollment forms and uploading supporting documentation
- Login to your existing PowerSchool Parent Portal Account at https://ps.troy.k12.mi.us.
- If you have more than one student, select the correct student from the blue menu at the top. (reference example image).
- Select Forms from the left menu. (reference example image).
- Select the Enrollment tab. (reference example image).
- You will see all the Enrollment Forms.
NOTE: Before you begin, please review the Uploading Supporting Documents section!
- You will start with “01. Student Demographics”. As you fill out the forms and click Submit, you will be automatically taken to the next form in the series. (reference example image).
- As each form is submitted a green check mark will appear next to that form. (reference example image).
- Submitting the Acknowledgement of Completion will alert Enrollment staff your enrollment is ready for review.
- Check your Enrollment Status form to see where you are in the process. If it says you are missing documentation, check your email for a message from enrollment staff listing what is missing.

How to Upload Supporting Documents
How to Upload Supporting Documents
The upload Sign In is for a program that stores your documents (eCollect); It is separate from PowerSchool.
The first time you use it click Sign In, then Register. We recommend using the same email and password you associate with your PowerSchool Account. You will occasionally be prompted to sign in again, but you only need to register once.
If you previously Registration and do not remember your password, click the Forgot Password? link and enter your email. eCollect will send you a Password Reset link.
The following Enrollment Forms require electronic copies of supporting documentation to be uploaded. All documents MUST be in an electronic format prior to starting these form. Supported file formats: .pdf, .docx, .xlsx, .odt, .jpg, .and png. Documents must be under 2M in size.
How to Use Your Mobile Device as a Scanner
Apple Device
Using Notes App
- Open the Notes app and create a new note or open an existing one.
- Tap the camera icon above the keyboard, then select Scan Documents.
- Place the document on a flat surface and position it in the camera's view.
- The scan will be captured automatically. If not, tap the Shutter button to capture it manually.
- Drag the corners to adjust the scan to fit the page, then tap Keep Scan.
- You can continue scanning additional pages or tap Save. The document will be saved as a PDF within the note.
Using the Files App
- Open the Files app and navigate to the folder where you want to save the scan.
- Tap the More button (the circle with three dots) in the top right corner.
- Select Scan Documents from the menu.
- The camera will open and automatically capture the document.
- After the scan is captured, tap Save. If you need to scan more pages, tap Keep Scan to continue.
- The scanned document will be saved directly to the Files app as a PDF.
Android Device
Step 1: Open Google Drive and start a scan
- Open the Google Drive app on your phone.
- Tap the large plus (+) icon in the bottom-right corner.
- Select the "Scan" option, which has a camera icon.
- You may need to grant Google Drive permission to access your camera.
Step 2: Take and adjust the scan
- Point your camera at the document. A blue line will appear to show where the scan will be cropped.
- Tap the shutter button to take the picture. The app will automatically capture it if you hold it steady.
- To add more pages, tap the plus icon again.
- Use the tools to adjust the scan:
- Crop & Rotate: Adjust the scan area.
- Filter: Change the colors or make it grayscale.
- Clean: Erase stains or other imperfections.
- When finished, tap "Done" or the checkmark.
Step 3: Save the scan
- Give your document a file name.
- Select the desired format, such as
.pdfor.jpg. - Choose the location in your Google Drive where you want to save it.
- Tap "Save" to upload the file.

English Learners (EL)
When completing the Home Language Survey enrollment form, you will be asked if the student's native or primary language is a language other than English. If you answer YES to either question, our English Language Department will follow up to complete a screening to determine if English Language support is needed.

Free & Reduced Meal Application
The Food Service Department accepts applications for free and reduced meals throughout the school year. If you believe you may qualify for free and reduced meals, please view the free and reduced Instructions.
Transportation
Transportation information (if available for your home address) will be updated in your PowerSchool Parent Portal account approximately two days before the student's first day of school.

Troubleshooting Enrollment in PowerSchool
If you are experiencing issues with the enrollment forms in PowerSchool, clear your web browser history (Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Microsoft Edge).
How to Clear Google Chrome Cache
Step 1: Launch Google Chrome and click the Chrome menu icon represented by three horizontal bars in the upper-right corner of the browser window, and click Settings near the bottom of the resulting drop-down menu.
Step 2: Then, click the link for Privacy and Security in the left sidebar. You’ll then want to click that and look for the Clear browsing data option. Click it, and make sure the box for cached images and files is checked. You can uncheck the other boxes for browsing history or cookies and other site data if you only want to clear the cache.
How to Clear Firefox Cache
Step 1: Open settings — Open Mozilla Firefox, click the button with three bars in the upper-right corner of the browser window and select Options from the resulting drop-down menu.
Step 2: Clear the browser cache — Click the Privacy and Security tab located on the right side of the navigation bar and head to the Cookies and Site Data section underneath. Click the button labeled Clear Data. You’ll want to make sure that the option for Cached Web Content is checked, and then press Clear. You can also check the box next to Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed to do so automatically when you close the browser.
How to Clear Safari Cache
Step 1: Open settings — Launch Safari, click Safari in the upper-left corner of the main menu bar, and select the Preferences option near the top of the drop-down menu. Then click the Advanced tab located in the top navigation bar and check the box directly on the bottom that says Show Develop menu in menu bar. This will add a new menu to Safari by default.
Step 2: Clear the browser cache — Click the Develop menu near the middle of the main Safari menu bar and select the Empty Caches option.
