Troy Colts Bands

The Troy Colt Bands program is a thriving community of student musicians at Troy High School in Troy, Michigan. Our ensembles offer students the opportunity to develop their musical skills, build lasting friendships, and perform at a high level. We welcome parents, alumni, and community members to engage with our program and support the next generation of musicians.

Why Engage in the Arts?

The Arts are unique within the educational system due to the fact that these courses allow students to engage with a multi-sensory, multi-modal experiences that are the foundation of cultures and meaning-making throughout the world.  Fine & Performing Arts have been recognized as a vital part of developing the whole child alongside mathematics and literacy.  An every-expanding body of research shows the importance of the arts in developing creativity and independence, intrapersonal and interpersonal skills, mental health, and a feeling of belonging.  Additional information on how the arts are tied to our "Portrait of a Learner", careers, and mental health can be found on The Value of the Arts page.
