Troy School District is Partnering with Lawrence Technological University

Troy School District and LawrenceTechnological University have partnered together to bring you an Early College Experience focusing on Computer and Cyber Security Sciences. This experience will begin with the 2028 TSD graduating class.

Why Wait to go to college?

Troy School District has partnered with Lawrence Technological University (LTU) to offer a TSD Early College experience beginning with the 2028 graduating class. Through this program, you can graduate with a high school diploma and an Associate Degree in just FIVE years.

Program Details

Students applying to the TSD Early College program should be highly curious about computer science, cyber security and interested in pursuing courses while in high school.

As a student you will experience the best of both worlds: some courses will be taught by LTU professors at one of TSD’s high schools, courses in later years will be taught on LTU’s college campus. During your 4 years of high school, transportation will be provided.

Early college TSD students will attend 4 years of high school, graduate with their peers, then enroll in a fully paid 5th year, where all courses will be taught on LTU’s campus.

TROY SCHOOL DISTRICT EARLY COLLEGE focuses on the Computer and Cyber Security sciences and will introduce you to some of the top 10 highest-paying careers and fastest-growing areas of industry.

Computer Science

(Associated Degree Program)

The increasing number and sophistication of cyberattacks demand the reaction of vigilant and creative professionals adept at devising and deploying protective measures. Experience hands-on learning to develop innovative solutions to real-world problems using advanced technology and software that prepares students for the rigors of programming and career opportunities.

Cyber Security

(Professional Certification)

Students discover courses that combine theoretical computer science foundations with industry-relevant practical knowledge. The goal is to cultivate an analytical, quantitative, computational, and interdisciplinary mindset in our students. Faculty are committed to providing students with data-driven skills using mathematical and computational methods that are critical for understanding and solving today’s most challenging problems.

Who can apply?

WHO CAN APPLY?

The online application is easily accessible and available to all 9th-grade students enrolled in the Troy School District. Upon completion of TSD’s Early College Program, successful students will be eligible to continue their studies at LTU at 50% of tuition, as they pursue a Bachelor’s Degree. Deadlines and additional information can be found on our website or by speaking with your student’s high school counselor. All accepted students will be invited to attend a parent and student meeting.

Five (5) Year PROGRAM

A five-year program that combines both high school and college degree requirements. Students can earn an associate's degree or certificate along with their high school diploma.

In-District Only STUDENTS

By offering this program to in-district 9th-grade students only, the Troy School District can partner with Lawrence Technological University to offer a unique opportunity to our students.

Tuition and BOOKS PAID

Tuition and fees are paid by Troy School District. Students are enrolled in a focused program of study and access to support services which will enhance their success.
