Acceleration opportunities within the new sequence: All students will have access to Algebra 1 after Math 7 Families will choose Math 8 or Algebra 1 after Math 7. No assessment or test out is required. Level-up: Math 6 Test-Out Exam As a district, we believe student’s needs are best met through differentiation in their grade level course and we strive to provide the appropriate level of mathematical challenge and support for each child. Families who feel their student’s math goals may be best met in Math 7 may enroll in an optional exam. The Math 6 test-out exam will cover all the Math 6 content and math practice standards. Students who demonstrate mastery of Math 6 are enrolled in Math 7. Students will have the opportunity to take this optional assessment in late May at their buildings and will receive feedback, in terms of standards mastered. This assessment will also be offered in August before the start of middle school. Spring Math Test-Out Math Test-Out will continue to occur every April. Exams offered will include Math 7, Math 8, Algebra 1, Geometry, Honors Geometry, Algebra 2, Honors Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus and Honors Pre-Calculus. Current elementary AGP students in math will continue along their pathway. Students currently in Math 6/7 will continue along their trajectory and take Math 7/8 next year.
