National Principals Month
The Troy School District Celebrates National Principals Month
Perhaps one of the busiest and challenging jobs in a school district is a school principal. School principals wear many hats and serve many stakeholders, including students, parents, teachers, support staff, district administration, and the community at large. There is never a dull moment nor down time for these talented individuals.
Every October, National Principals Month is an opportunity to acknowledge and praise the leadership of school principals. The Troy School District proudly celebrates its 32 principals and assistant principals who lead our 12 elementary schools, one preschool, four middle schools, 3 high schools, one alternative high school, and one transitional career center.
The role of a principal goes above and beyond administrative duties. Their leadership has a significant impact on the school community. Alongside a student’s teacher, principals are the second most influential adult inside a school. National Principals Month is celebrated and recognized by the American Federation of School Administrators, the National Association of Elementary School Principals, and the National Association of Secondary School principals and by the Troy School District.
October may be the month we acknowledge all that they do, but OneTroy celebrates them all year long. Get to know each of these amazing leaders.
