AYP
Adequate Yearly Progress or AYP is also shown
on the report card and impacts the final composite grade.
AYP is a requirement of the federal education law called No
Child Left Behind (NCLB) and compares the results of the reading/language
arts and mathematics parts of the MEAP test over the past
three years to determine the progress students are making.
There are several factors that determine a school's AYP status,
including the percent of participation in the annual MEAP
test. For the Troy School District, every K-12 school met
adaquate yearly progress.
The State of Michigan's Education YES! and AYP web site is
located at the following link.
