Troy is one of eight Boards of Education (out of 520) in Michigan to receive the prestigious Visionary Leadership Award from the Michigan Association of School Boards. MASB has also named the Troy Board one of 11 in Michigan to earn the Standard of Excellence award, and one of 16 to be named an Honor Board.

The Troy Board of Education was named School Board of the Year by ArtServe Michigan over the past two years. The award honored the board for its outstanding support of the fine arts.

The Troy Board of Education has been named one of the top ten tech-savvy in the country, as named by the Center for Digital Education.

	Nancy Philippart President Nancy Philippart has been a resident of Troy for 21 years and is serving her fourth year on the Board. She is married and has two Troy School District graduates and one current student. Ms. Philippart has 31 years of experience as an engineer and executive in the automobile industry and currently owns her own consulting company. She holds an MA in Economics from Wayne State University, a MS in biomedical/civil engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University and a BS in Industrial Engineering from Wayne State University. 	Ida Edmunds Vice President Ida Edmunds is a 34-year resident of Troy and is serving her 27th year as a member of the Troy School Board. She is married and has two sons who are graduates of the Troy School District. Mrs. Edmunds holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from the University of Evansville and a Master of Education Degree from University of Cincinnati. 	Todd Miletti Secretary Todd Miletti is a 13-year resident of Troy and is serving his fifth year on the Board. He is married and has two children in the Troy School District. Mr. Miletti is a Public Sector Account Manager in the Personal Systems Group for a global IT solutions company. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Siena Heights College. 	Wendy Underwood Trustee Wendy Underwood is an eight-year resident of Troy and is serving her seventh year on the Board. She is married and has two children enrolled in the Troy School District. Ms. Underwood has a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Juris Doctor degree from Columbia Law School. 	Paula Fleming Trustee Paula Fleming has been a resident of Troy since 1982 and is serving her 12th year on the Board. She is married and has one son who graduated from the Troy School District. Mrs. Fleming attended Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi, receiving a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in elementary education. 	Gary Hauff Trustee Gary Hauff, a Troy resident for 27 years, is married and has four children who have graduated from the Troy School District. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Wayne State University. Mr. Hauff is a retired Troy police officer and serving his 14th year on the Board.
	Karl Schmidt Trustee Karl Schmidt is serving on his first year on the Board. He owns a Troy-based market research company and is an adjunct instructor at Oakland University. Karl has a B.A. in Advertising from Michigan State University and an M.B.A in Marketing from Oakland University. He and his wife Karen live on the west side of the city.
