Troy High School students participate in 27 different sports activities.

Both Athens and Troy high schools have been named two of 10 exemplary athletic programs in the state.

The Troy School District athletes and teams earned the following during the 2006-2007 school year:

  • Nine league champs
  • Six District champs
  • 68 All League Athletes
  • 17 All Region Athletes
  • 15 All District Athletes
  • 20 All County Athletes
  • 34 All State Athletes
  • 1 All American Athlete

Maintaining Amateur Status

A.  Students participating or planning to participate in interscholastic athletics MAY NOT:

(1) accept any money or other valuable consideration for participating in athletics, sports or games;

(2) receive any money or other valuable consideration for officiating an interscholastic athletic contest or

(3) sign a contract with a professional team.

B.  The rule in (A) applies to the following sports: Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Gymnastics, Soccer, Softball, Skiing, Tennis, Track, Volleyball, Wrestling, Ice Hockey, Competitive Cheer, Swimming and Diving.

FAILURE TO COMPLY: A student violating this rule is ineligible and may not apply for reinstatement until the equivalent of one full school year has elapsed from the date the student may request reinstatement.
