Troy Board of Education names new Assistant Principal

Mr. Recker most recently served as a Language Arts teacher and School Improvement Chair at Troy High School.
Mr. Recker began his career in education teaching Language Arts and Journalism in Dayton, Ohio at the Dayton Early College Academy. He then moved to the Troy area in 2014 and accepted a position at Troy High School teaching various ELA classes, from Freshman English to AP Literature. During his time in Dayton and at Troy High School, Mr. Recker fulfilled many additional responsibilities including implementing the International Society for Technology in Education’s standards, leading the Continuous Improvement Committee to increase use of best practices and serving as coordinator for several extracurricular clubs and committees. Mr. Recker has a Bachelor’s Degree in Adolescent to Young Adult Education from the University of Dayton and a Master of Arts in K-12 Education Administration from Michigan State University.
Mr. Recker replaces former Assistant Principal Diane Kocenda, who retired this year after 19 years with the Troy School District. We are incredibly appreciative of her valuable service to the Troy School District and her endless passion for the success of thousands of students during her tenure.
Mr. Recker will begin his duties as Assistant Principal, Larson Middle School on July 1, 2017.
