The following report details compensation and benefit costs for all Troy School District employees during the calendar year 2009. The following information is important to note as you view this report:
- The information that is posted is for the period from January 1,2009 through December 31, 2009. The data provided represents the most recent calendar year for which compensation information is available.
- Wages include base salaries and any additional income received by employees from the Troy School District, such as student club/activity sponsor stipends, coaching salaries, payments for other extra duties, and/or longevity payments.
- The report lists a daily rate for each employee. This rate is comprised of wages, FICA, and retirement and is divided by the number of contract days employed during the 2009 calendar year. The rate is based on the number of days represented in employee contracts. For instance, the contract days are 191 annually for TEA members and 261 annually for 52 week employees. For specific details, please refer to the contacts and handbooks posted as part of this transparency report.
- Additional fringe benefits are listed and may include such things as Board paid tax shelter annuity (TSA), tuition, or stipends paid to employees in absence of selecting health insurance.
- Benefit costs are broken out into health (medical), dental-vision, life, long term disability (LTD), retirement and associated FICA payments. Actual costs are provided for premium-based insurance plans. Areas where employees are part of a self-funded insurance program are noted with an “SF.” The actual cost of an employee’s self-funded benefits vary by the staff member based upon individual claims filed on behalf of the employee and/or his/her dependents. Accordingly, due to privacy concerns, these costs are not reported on an individual employee basis. The total cost for the self funded benefits from January 1, 2009, through December 31, 2009, is $3,491,587.54.
- Anyone who received income from the Troy School District during the 2009 calendar year is included in this report. As the district's budget cycle is from July to June of each year, audited information or levels reported in posted contracts will differ from the salary included in this report.
